SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
Houston staff and students heavily use the auditorium as a space for daily meetings, special assemblies and performance where our students can showcase their incredible talents. The auditorium is also used for the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee and the very popular school musical that a large percentage of the student body is involved with each year. Past performances have included Shrek Jr, Aladdin Kids, and Willy Wonka. We are incredibly lucky to have the support of Quintessence Theater, who partner with the school each year on the musical. We receive financial support for the musical from other local businesses and parent and other community volunteers are also essential to every aspect of making the school musical a success each year.
In order to create a venue worthy of Houston students' enthusiasm, the HSA and Families for Houston replaced the non-functioning sound system and microphones in 2024 and help with maintaining the space throughout the year. We are also actively working to further improve the space by installing acoustic panels and cover the linoleum floor to reduce echoes and background noise and improve sound.
